The Speech

Barack Obama spoke today in Philadelphia about race in America.

Did you see it? Did you read it? Here it is.

Do you think America will realize how incredible that speech was?

Do you think America will realize how incredible it was that someone rose to write it and deliver it in such a fashion?

Yea, he nailed it.

A political pundit, whose name isn't worth mentioning here, suggested it was the best speech on race relations in 40 years. The setting (i.e., Philly - city of brotherly love) with a slew of American flags in the back drop was a nice touch. The only thing missing was the Presidential seal on the podium.

any comment as to when questioned about Don Imus and his comment he said he in no way wanted to associate with him or be an enabler of that kind of hate. Yet he contradicts himself in this speech saying he could no more "disown him than I can disown the black community." I would consider what Rev Wright said more disruptive and hateful than what Imus said.
