I'm surrounded by those moments (and had one this weekend, in fact).
On a class trip to see an exhibition in LA (really!) I was talking to some of the "kids" in the class. Kids, yes, since most of them are sophomores and I am not. I was the only grad student there.
Someone mentioned some movie or other, I don't remember which one, but the exchange went something like this:
kid 1: "You know, it came out in, like, 1988"
kid 2: "I was only three in 1988"
me: "Yikes! My BAT MITZVAH was in 1988."
Few things remind me of how old I am as the fact that I spend my life on a college campus.
