I'd wait for Season 1. It's way better than Season 2 and will get you hooked so bad you'll want to see Season 2 anyway. If you do it the other way around, you may not wanna see Season 1, and then you'd miss out on the real goods.
I think you can get into without season 1. I didn't start watching 'til season 3, after they did a 2 hour "recap of seasons one and two" on tv. That recap was enough to get me hooked. However, if you skip a season, you will need to do a little reading to get yourself caught up on the significance of the things you missed -- lostpedia is good for that.
I agree with Bob. Start from the beginning. Season One is by far the best one - and so much of the (diminishing) fun of this show is picking up on all the clues as the plot progresses. (Or, you could just pick up Season One of Veronica Mars instead, and get into a really GOOD show...)
You guys are hilarious. Pacemakers, politics, personal insights... And the only comments I get are on a prime time soap opera.
ask brett or ed to give you one of the freebie copies of season 1 that they had ordered a while back, if there are any left.
